A Liver for Jean

We are looking for a live liver donor for Jean so that she can extend her life and have many more years or decades with her family. Jean has a diseased liver, not due to any type of substance abuse. Currently there are over 10,000 people on the liver recipient list waiting for a deceased liver. Live liver donation is an alternative that would allow Jean an earlier transplant option and an overall higher probably of a successful healthy life after transplant.
Some background on Jean
Jean is in her early 60’s and lives in the vicinity of Rochester NY. She was born and raised in northern Connecticut and received a B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where she met her husband, Bill. Jean worked for the New York State DEC, and Brevard County Florida as an environmental Engineer before working at the Kennedy Space Center as a Hazardous Waste Engineer in the time when NASA was returning to Space Shuttle Launches after the Challenger Disaster. Jean and Bill have an Adult Daughter who lives close by, but unfortunately, she is not able to be a living donor due to her own medical concerns.
What is Living Liver Donation?
In this case a donor with a matching liver donates a portion of their liver to Jean. The AMAZING thing is that in a short period of time, both the remaining liver in the donor and the transplanted portion of that liver regenerate to the original size of the liver. The donor is usually in the Hospital for 5 days and can quickly resume their normal lifestyle.
What are the prerequisites to be a living donor?
A healthy adult between the ages of 18-60, which has a blood type match to Jean (A+/A- or O+/O-). The entire cost of the donation process is covered although the donor does need to have current health insurance.
